Life is taxing. Challenges and obstacles are tightly woven into the fabric of our daily lives making the successful completion of each week a patch of honour to be worn with pride. Between the demands of work and home, it’s rare to find time just for oneself...to unwind, and to indulge in the little pleasures that appease one’s worn out soul.
As we toil away at work-or fold the laundry-or toss groceries into our shopping cart-our minds can’t help but wander from the rote task at hand and imagine what it would be like to be somewhere else, indulging in our most desired delights. For some it’s an afternoon on a golf course-for others it’s a glass of fine wine-or a steaming scented bubble bath. For me, it’s sugar. Let me clarify....I’m referring to the sugary sweet delishness of baked confections. Cookies, cakes, tarts, cupcakes, squares....any and/or all of these sweet treats work brilliantly to uplift my weary and depleted spirit.
When I finally have the opportunity to escape the routines and restrictions that govern my daily existence, I turn to the comfort and fulfillment that baked goods provide. But more specifically, the baked goods that Cupcake Junkie Bakery provides. There is nothing more comforting to me than biting into the soft, brown sugar infused goodness of a Cupcake Junkie chocolate chip cookie...unless it’s the sweet smoothness of Cupcake Junkie’s signature cheesecake....or the cloying sweetness of Cupcake Junkie’s icing sugar glazed cinnamon pop-over. Not to mention Cupcake Junkie’s tiramisu, brownies, blondies, cake pops, macarons, butter tarts, and their large and tempting selection of both cupcakes and cookies. No matter what my craving, or how desperate my need for indulgence, I can always find just the right sweet remedy at Cupcake Junkie.
We all deserve to indulge ourselves every now and then....no matter what one’s escape may be. Life without our little pleasures would be unbalanced and extremely tough to bare. Sometimes, just knowing that a Cupcake Junkie treat awaits me at the end of a long and demanding week is the only thing that gets me through it. And I know for certain that I’m not the only one!
